What is Social Responsibility?
Social Responsibility is an ethical framework which suggests that an individual or organization has an obligation to act for the benefit of not just itself, but society as a whole. For us here at the Boonslick Heartland YMCA, that means giving back to the community that supports us, in whatever ways we can. Here are some of the ways that we at the BHYMCA give back to our community:
- Affordable Child Care
- Financial Assistance for low income families
- Family/Parenting Classes in conjunction with CMCA
- Shared Facility usage with Community Organizations
- Supporting other Non-Profits and Community Betterment Organizations
Volunteerism & Giving
Social Responsibility isn't a one way street, however, and no YMCA can support its community without first having the support of its community. That's where you come in. Through volunteer efforts or donations, you help us to provide the programs and services that are our way of giving back to the community. For example, by donating to our annual Partners With Youth campaign you help us provide the financial assistance that helps families afford a membership, and enroll their children in programs that they otherwise might not be able to afford. If you're interested in helping us help our community, proceed to the Volunteerism & Giving page.
