The Boonslick Heartland YMCA periodically holds Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid certification courses that are open and available to the community. These certification courses are offered on varying weekends every year in the Spring. We encourage you to register early as space is limited for each certification.

​​A valid e-mail must be provided at the time of registration, as both certifications have prerequisite e-learning courses that must be completed prior to the date of class.
Jr. Guard Certification Requirements
Lifeguard Certification consists of a 2 day course held:

Prerequisite swim test: Friday at 4:30 PM
Friday evening: 5:30 - 8:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The eligibility swim test required for junior guards are held the Friday of the session at 4:30. Youth Aquatic Safety Assistant (YASA or Jr. Guard) registrants must be 14 by the last day of class.
Lifeguard Certification Requirements
​Lifeguard Certification is a multi-day course held:

Prerequisite swim test: Friday at 4:30 PM
Friday evening: 5:30 - 8:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Sunday: 1:00 - 5:00 PM

Each participant must attend all sessions, no exceptions. Lifeguard registrations must be 16 by the last day of class.
Lifeguard Renewal Requirements
​Lifeguard Renewal will be held:

Friday evening: 5:30 - 8:00 PM
Sunday: 1:00 - 5:00 PM

​Candidate must have most recent lifeguard certification with them to begin the session.
SESSIONS DATES:
Session One: March 3rd-5th
Session Two: April 14th-16th
Session Three:  May 5th-7th
Session 4:  June 5th-6th (Mon-Tues) day time hours.
Session 4 needs at least 7 people registered to take place.
Sessions 1-4 take place at the Boonslick Heartland YMCA
